This week I bought...

So as I have already mentioned I am a self confessed shopping addict so this week I thought I would share it with you. So rather than do the usual 'This week I wore' I'm going one different and showing you what I bought this week. I have to say I am a little bit apprehensive about doing it though as it might mean coming to turns with my addiction and seeing how much I actually buy... and spend...

So I started this week telling myself I wouldn't shop this week and focus on getting christmas presents but a quick browse on Lavish Alice and I came across this gorgeous skirt. I'd been after a leatherette skirt for a while and the minute I seen this one I couldn't resist and for just £20 who could?! I love the stud detail aswell... For those who have never used Lavish Alice before I would fully recommend! The clothes are gorgeous, cheap and the delivery is so quick! I ordered on Friday afternoon and it was in my hands at 9am on Saturday morning!

I love the khaki polo neck dress, I love how versatile it is because I can dress it down with some ankle boots and a leather jacket for uni or dress it up with heels and a chunky necklace for a night out and £9.99 is a bargain! Its like an online primark! This dogtooth midi I also love. I love the Midi length but I'm not sure whether or not I'll pull it off... Missguided is great for deals aswell they are always sending emails with 10% off or free delivery... I bagged free Saturday delivery on these two!

Internacionale isn't somewhere I would normally think to look but when they opened a big new store at the Metrocentre this weekend I couldn't resist having a look and I would these two pieces straight away! I love the leatherette shorts, because as you can tell I'm into leather at the minute but I also love the colour and the zip detail. And I thought this cute little knit dress was perfect for cold days at uni, I love things that are warm but stylish at the same time! And both items were really reasonably priced aswell. I will definately be taking another look in the future.

I already have my next purchases lined up not sure how long i'll last before I purchase them...

So what did you buy this week?

High street comes out on top!

So tonight I'm treating you to two blogs to make up for my lack of this week. Topic: X Factor!

I don't know about you but when it comes to the weekly 'who looked better' there is never a question in my mind! Nicole Scherzinger has a unique power of making everything she wears look glamorous, sexy and sophisticated all at the same time. So when I read online today that her gorgeous vintage inspired pearl gown was from nowhere other than the great British high street I was overcome with excitement!

Hollywood glamour: Nicole Scherzinger wore an elegant pearl floor-length dress, while Tulisa looked sophisticated in her black dress
Wow... the stunning Topshop dress flatters her curves perfectly and flies the flag for British fashion!

To know that one of the most fashionable celebs in the world at the minute (in my eyes anyway) is wearing a dress that I myself could easily pop into town and buy gave me an excitement I wouldn't otherwise have expected.

The dress itself is on par in the fashion stakes with just about every other dress she has wore this season which is a great triumpth for the British high street. It proves you don't have to spend thousands to top the style stakes.

Some more of my favourite Nicole fashion moments include...
Thigh's the limit: Nicole Scherzinger shows off her long legs in a daring Osman Yousefzada dress, while Tulisa goes girlie in a Suzanne Neville creation on the X Factor results showShowing off the dress to the full effect: The 34-year-old walked out onto the stage with the skirt of her Kristian Aadnevik dress in her hand to show off the split Black or white? Stepping out onto the X Factor stage on Saturday Nicole opted for a white mini-dress as Tulisa went for a dramatic black gown
This one I want!!!

But lets face it, Nicole could wear a bin bag and still manage to make it look incredible...

Casual Mondays

I have to start off by apologising for the lack of tweets this past two weeks! I started this blog off with the best intentions but work got in the way! Anyway I thought today was an appropriate day to tweet about the joys and comforts of your favourite casual looks. Anyone who knows me will know I love nothing more than girly dresses, shorts and gorgeous shoes, but there are some days, like todaywhen the weather is miserable, or I've had a long weekend that all I want to do is throw on my favourite Jack Wills tracksuit and just relax.

Although not the most fashionable of looks, some days you just need to feel cosy. Whether it be with a tracksuit like mine, a baggy jumper or your beloved UGG boots we all love a bit of comfort now and then. I realised the need for casual Mondays (or Tuesdays or Wednesday or any day!) recently when I thought about my future career.

As you may already know my dream is to be strutting my stuff around the offices of Vogue or addressing the nation on the set of E! news or any other glamorous position I can get my hands on. Whichever role I manage to bag I am sure will require me to look my best and casual Mondays will be a thing of the past. So more and more reason to make the most of it now!

So here are my pick of the comfiest looks on the high street at the minute (while still trying to remain a little bit fashionable):

Please excuse the poor collage skills, I'm not quite at photoshop level just yet!

So while you wont see me stepping out in my onesie anytime soon, you will definately see me look more cosy than trendy at least once a week, but everyones allowed a day off right?

One girls mission for long locks!

Do you dream of long luscious locks like that featured in every shampoo advert in the country? Me too. Infact the battle over length between myself and my hair has been going out for quite some time! So long so I often resort to going to the hairdressers and getting it chopped because I'm so fed up of no change. Ever since my mother encouraged me too get a long bob when I was 14 my hair has never been the same. However six months ago I set myself a challenge... its time to pull out all the stop and have gorgeous long locks by the end of the year.

I invested in a 'dohnut' (greatest invention ever), put my beloved GHDs to one side and invested in a ton of hair care products, bargain ones at that. So I'm going to share with you my top tips for growing your hair.

There are soo many products out there that claim to make your hair grow but after trying out a few options I've discovered the best way to grow your hair is by getting into the best condition as possible and laying off the straighters.

It all started when I won a Schwarzkopf Proffesional time restore gift set at a raffle believe it or not. The range is aimed to repair the hair and protect it from ageing.
I used the shampoo daily along with the leave in conditionor spray,  a product which I have only recently discovered and now couldn't live without, and then the treatment cream every 3 to 4 days for about 10 minutes. The effects definately showed as my hair was in a noticeably better condition. My hair looked softer and full of life as well as smelling gorgeous!

Unfortunately these products don't last forever and have proved increasingly difficult to find in any of the usual beauty haunts. Although a quick search of the internet does show results but at around £10 per product I felt it was time to go for the next best option. After browsing the aisles of boots I came across the Dove intensive repair range. The range is aimed at restoring dry and damaged hair and costs between £2-4 so is an absolute bargain. It is also currently half price at superdrug for just £1.29 each! So its cheap and it works! It has the same if not better results than its more expensive competition and is great for daily use.
However my must have buy for gourgeous lock definately has to be...
Aussie 3 minute miracle deep conditoning treatment! It is by far the best of its kind on the market! It smells gorgeous and leaves your hair looking and feeling revived and fabulous. It is also available in handy one use sachet's that you can pick up for £1 from most supermarkets and boots stores! If you follow any of my tips, follow this one! You won't be able to live without!
Some more tips include:
                                        Putting these to one side...

and investing in one of these...

So although my hair isn't quite down to my bum just yet, it is a much healthier condition!Give me another six months and I may have some more positive news for you...

Finally.. The Kardashian Kollection is here!

I don't know about you but I have been waiting for this day for a long time! As an avid follower of the kardashians over the years I was so excited to hear they wear bringing there succesful Kardashian Kollection to the UK! I love all the girls style, Kourtney is my fav!, and I've been waiting in anticipation for months to see what the 'Kollection' would offer. So when I woke up this morning I was so happy to see that not only has it arrived but they pieces are gorgeous! So here are my a few of my favs... although I could probably buy the whole lot.

Its definately safe to say my purse is going to get a hammering this weekend, but for a good job all the pieces are really reasonably priced! Another reason to love the Kardashians.

My first Mac experience...

For those of you who know me you will know when I say Mac I am talking about the cosmetics rather than the laptop! I have always been a bit dubious about using Mac Cosmetics. I love the look they create but the price tag if i'm honest has always kept me at a distance.

Most of my friends use Mac and whenever I question them on how they can justify spending so much on a mascara or foundation they all same the same... 'It's worth it.' One friend told me that because one foundation/mascara etc can last her up to 3 months it doesn't really seem that much. I was still hesitant until she showed me the effect of her new false lash effect mascara and I was amazed by the results! Her lashes looks much longer than normal and had a very distintive effect.

So I took myself off to the Mac stand at House of Fraser and began looking. I have to mention how beautiful are the girls who work there? There looks are always so unique and flawless it's a great advert for the brand. So anyway I began to ask the girl which mascara would be best to give the long lash look I desired. I have never been able to get away with false lashes, their far too fidley for my shaky hands and I end up with glue everywhere.

The sales advisor suggested I try their latest mascara 'Haute and Naughty'. This is a unique mascara as it has too brushes. The first for lengthening, and the second for thickening. It is also available in black and 'too black'. I was advise too black would give a more intense look so I went for it and I was no dissapointed!

Take a look at the results...

First this is my usual mascara Maybelline 'Falsies' Volum' express flared mascara which retails at Superdrug for £7.99

And this is the Mac mascara. The difference is undeniable and I think it definately creates a false lash look worth it's £18 price tag.

I will definately be making more Mac purchases in the future! I see it as an investment buy from now on.

Ciate Caviar Manicure

I have been DYING to try the Ciate Caviar Manicure ever since I saw a picture of it on Millie Mackintosh's twitter feed months ago! But it seems I wasn't the only one as it sold out almost immediately and I was stuck on a waiting list for months and the only retail stockist is all the way in London. So when my birthday came around last week and my brother announced a trip down to London I knew excatly what to ask for.

For those of you who don't know the concept of the caviar manicure is microbead applied on top of the polish to give an almost 3D effect. In my eager anticipation I purchased microbeads from ebay for just £1.99, Ciate retails for £18, and it did the trick but you just can't compare to the original in this case.

The manicure is very fiddly and can get quite messy. I would reccomend having a easier way of pouring the beads to prevent them going everywhere! However the end result is great for a special occasion or a night out. It isn't practical for much else and doesn't last too long as I soon find out but you definately have to try it!

The finished look definately had impact!

The tray provided is a life saver for all the left over beads!

Ciate do provide a funnel to help pour leftover beads back into the bottle to prevent loosing half the bottle on every use making it last longer!

Love this! Excuse the messyness! It was done in a rush while waiting to shop I cleaned this up later with a cotton bud and nail polish! I would recommend spending a while doing it properly to get it perfect!

Get yours now!

Nicki, Nicki, Nicki

On Sunday night I went to Nicki Minaj's Roman Reloaded tour at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena. My reason for going wasn't so much for her music, although I am a fan, but it was more for the fact I knew she would put on a good show. I wasn't wrong either. What did suprise me however was her costume choices. I have always admired Nicki's bravery when it comes to fashion because she always wears fun and quirky outfits and doesn't appear to take any notice of what the rest of the world thinks.

Nicki's outfit choices for this particular night werent quite as outrageous as I expected. There was very little PVC and inflatables and more leather, sequins and denim. Whatever she wears Nicki seems to pull it off in a way very few others could. It's all part of her persona and likeability and I personally don't think she would be taken seriously any other way. She actually made the outfits seem quite normal? and perhaps even fashionable... if I dare say that.

It's her way of standing out and getting herself noticed and it has obviously worked for her. So even though I won't be rushing to the shop to buy a pink wig just yet, I think we should all take inspiration in her creativity and willingness to wear whatever she likes and make it her own despite the pressure of the many fashion critics out there. Strangely enough the stage for the show was designed to look like a shopping mall with 'The Nicki Minaj Collection' store in the centre. Could this be a sign of things to come? I look forward to the wierd and wonderful outcome if it is.

Well Done Nicki!

A weekend of fashion dilemmas...

So this weekend I turned the dreaded 20 (the awful realisation you are now in fact an adult!) but the most prominent thing on my mind was what to wear. Being someone who likes to celebrate their birthday for a whole week and not just a day, I was going to need some gorgeous outfits for my celebrations. After weeks of deliberating I finally chose 3 outfits which I loved.

So what did I go decide on? Take a look...

For the Thursday night I went out in town with the girls and I chose this River Island sequined leapord print dip hem maxi. I loved this dress the minute I seen it and it was an absolute bargain at £30 in the sale! Thanks River Island! I teamed it with these gorgeous garage peep toe seude wedges with gold stud detail.

Next their was my birthday meal at a lovely Italians on the Queyside with my boyfriend. I wanted to wear something dressy but not to dressy that I would feel over dressed (a common dilemma of mine!) So I went for this black Miss Selfridge dress, I loved the detailing of the top with the simplicty of the bodycon bottom. I styled the outfit with black tights - not ideal but it had started to snow in Newcastle so was a must - nude heels and matching shoulder bag.

The dress is £42 but don't forget they offer 10% discount for students and are currently offering free delivery on all orders over £40 online.

Next was my actually birthday night so this dress had to be special! I picked it out three weeks in advance and absolutely loved it. I love the neck detail on my Miss Selfridge dress. I teamed it with these gorgeous Dorothy Perkins nude beaded bow courts and cream clutch. My friend (pictured) also for a stunning Lipsy peplum which flattered her figure perfectly.

These shoes were £55 but so worth it! I had so many compliments and luckily they were comfy too!

So all in all I think I had a pretty succesful birthday weekend! I would love to know your opinions on any of the items pictured.
